RISD Color Lab

The Rhode Island School of Design has prided itself on a series of transdisciplinary laboratory and educational spaces including the new addition of the RISD Color Lab built in 2019. The main intent of this space is to focus on breaking academic art and design silos by providing the space, resources, and knowledge to foster collaboration for all things color.

My role: I led the identification of a critical need for a color lab on campus, conducting a thorough analysis of HVAC safety protocols and existing infrastructure for RISD's color-related courses. I collaborated closely with academic and facilities teams to determine the requirements of various educational programs to incorporate into the proposal. I was able to help with the vision and practical considerations for the lab, aligning it with both student needs and institutional goals.
